I said "yes to the dress"!

Super excited to say that I have chosen and ordered my wedding dress! I can't wait for it to get here so I can try it on and have it actually be my size. I feel like I still have so much to do- I need to get our engagement announcement in the paper, select save the dates, create our registry, make final decisions on colors for my girls as well as the mothers' dresses, etc. etc.. I know it's all going to come together. I need to get busy on my 101 in 1001 list as well- I've completed parts of tasks on my list, and I'll have a complete update on that as well as my actual list sometime next week. For now, I'm going to enjoy my Thursday night and wait for Grey's Anatomy to come on.

The weekend....

I had a fun and eventful weekend. Probably the biggest thing was wedding dress shopping with my mom on Saturday. Enzoani (one of my favorite designers) was having a trunk show at our store, so I made sure to book an appointment so I could try on all of the new dresses for 2011. It was so much fun! There were so many gorgeous gowns and I think that I may have made my decision....it's a dress that I've tried on before and even had my mom see it too. I'm gonna think about it for a couple of days though and hopefully make a final decision soon. Eeek! We also looked for a dress for my mom and the first one she tried on ended up being perfect! She's gonna look soo good. TDH's mom already came by the shop and we found 2 dresses that looked stunning on her. That part was too easy! I've already picked out the bridesmaids' dresses but just need to make a final decision on the color- which will depend on what details I add to my dress.

One of TDH's friends (and groomsmen) was in town for the weekend so TDH's brother and I met him for dinner and then went downtown to see The Modern Eldorados play. TDH's friend and brother had never heard them and I knew they would like them since they both like honkytonk, rockabilly country. I normally don't like this kind of music, but I love the band. It was great to catch up and I can't wait until everybody's here in October for the big day!

Sunday was spent watching the playoff games. We're Steelers fans and luckily my dad was home so we could all watch the game. We went to Joe Patti's (the best seafood place ever) and stocked up on shrimp, gumbo and coleslaw. YUM! We also got sourdough breadbowls to put our gumbo in- it was delicious. We were sitting on pins and needles during the last part of the game, but we WON and we'll be going to the Super Bowl! It'll be a good game.

Hope everyone has a fabulous week!

New Year, New Blog

So I'm going to start the new year with a blog. Yes, I do realize that we're halfway through January, but this month has been crazy-busy. I just finished compiling my 101 in 1001 list (post to come soon on that) and I'm hoping that updating my progress on this blog will help hold me accountable....Also, I will be getting married this year so there will probably be some posts about that too along with anything else that seems to capture my interest.
